Rise of the Tomb Raider received a new patch on PC a few days ago, the patch brought a plethora of improvements and fixes as well as new graphical options. However, the patch also added some additional stuff that was uncovered up until now.
According to a Reddit user, the latest patch also brings some of the DirectX 12 files. Could it be that Nixxes is planning on adding DirectX 12 support in the game? With that out of the way, the patch also added some DirectX 12 exclusive features into the game. You can check out the screen shots provided by Olek below.
This is a pretty interesting revelation, especially after the fact the fact that Rise of the Tomb Raider doesn't officially support the DirectX 12 API yet and upon enabling these options, the game will simply shut down. With that being said, we are still not sure what the developers are up to. Could it be that the developers are finally introducing full DirectX 12 support in the game? Only time can tell.
Meanwhile, you can grab Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360. The PS4 release date is still unknown but our speculations point towards a release date in the 4th quarter of this year. Whatever the case is, we will keep you posted. Stay tuned for more.
